Bureau Chief Fred Smart

Hello and welcome to the Harrison County Bureau of Emergency Services website. My name is Fred Smart, Bureau Chief, 9-1-1 Coordinator and Director of the Office of Emergency Services for Harrison County.

I invite you to take a tour of our website, and see for yourself what goes on behind the scenes of an Enhanced 911 center.

Since its inception, the Bureau has held firm to its primary goal of providing the best service possible for the citizens of Harrison and Taylor counties. In recent years we have added innovations such as computer-aided dispatching and Phase I Wireless Technology. Over the next few years we will be implementing county-wide mapping and addressing, Phase II Wireless Technology (when available), automatic vehicle location and a significant upgrade to our radio system.

In this age of technology, we believe our website will be an ideal way of putting a "face to the voice" the public hears when they call for assistance. We hope the information contained in this site will give the public a better understanding of Bureau operations. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions for our website, feel free to contact us via email at webmaster@harrco911.org. We would really like to hear from you.

Thank you for spending time with us, and I hope you enjoy you visit.

Sincerely,
Fred
