Law Enforcement Classes

(All classes certified by Governor's Committee)

 

Stress Shooting, Chief  Mike Secreto Shinnston Police Department and Deputy Greg Scolapio Harrison County Sheriffs Department

L01

This course will consist of classroom and range time.  Participants must be sworn law enforcement officers, and have with them a billed ball cap, wrap around shooting glasses, ear protection and attire of their choice.  The shooting course requires at least 100 rounds of handgun ammunition, including a shotgun with 10 slugs and .00 buck.
Saturday only.  8 hours.  Class size limited to 20 persons.

 

Interview and Interrogation, Sergeant Christopher Smith WV State Police

L02

At the conclusion of this 8 hour course of instruction, the student will have obtained a broad base of information and skills to successfully conduct and supervise criminal interviews and/or interrogations.  Certified law enforcement officers only.
8 hours.  Saturday, repeated Sunday

 

Criminal Interdiction, TFC J. A. Laing WV State Police

L03

This class offers an opportunity for officers to apply a simple approach to identifying the felon on a routine traffic stop.  No state is immune from these fugitives, gunrunners, drug smugglers and murder suspects that are traveling on our nation's roadways.                            
8 hours.  Saturday, repeated Sunday.

 

Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, Sergeant Sandra Audia Clarksburg Police Department

L04

Students will be updated on S.F.S.T. and how to perform DUIs in a more effective manner.                  
8 hours.  Saturday, repeated Sunday.
